Biography
Milcho Borovinov is a member of Flanders Opera's ensemble of young singers.
Bulgarian bass Milcho Borovinov is member of Flanders Opera's ensemble of young singers. He studied at is hometown of Sofia and at the Institut für Musiktheater at the University of Graz. In 2004 he debuted as Sarastro/Die Zauberflöte at Staatsopera Stara Zagora (Bulgaria). He gave guest performances at Mainz, Fulda and Remscheid. His repertoire includes roles as Bartolo and Antonio/Le Nozze di Figaro, Leporello and Commendatore/Don Giovanni, Basilio/Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Sparafucile/Rigoletto, Angelotti/Tosca, Zuniga/Carmen and Gremin/Jevgeni Onegin. At Flanders Opera he sang in 2009 Orlik/Mazeppa and Abimélech/Samson et Dalila. In 2009-2010 he sings Handwerksbursch 1 in Alban Berg's Wozzeck, Bonzo in Giacomo Puccini's Madama Butterfly, Doctor/Inquisitor3/Judge/Stanislaus in Leonard Bernstein's Candide, Député flamand in Giuseppe Verdi's Don Carlos, the roles of Prins Gremin and Zaretsky in Jevgeni Onegin and Hobson in Benjamin Britten's Peter Grimes.
For the performances of Eugene Onegin Milcho Borovinov will play the role of Prins Gremin on April 23 and 25, He will sing the role of Zaretsky on March 23, 26, 28 en 31 and on 3, 11, 15, 17 and 20 April.
