Flanders Opera presents socially relevant, up-to-date and high-quality performances of both the great works of opera from the history of music and new creations, for the broadest possible audience.

Its own symphony orchestra, the chorus, the technical staff and the administrative departments together amount to 270 full-time personnel. This makes the Flanders Opera the largest cultural institution in Flanders. All its productions are staged in the two magnificent opera houses in Antwerp and Ghent.

Flanders Opera is recruiting an assistant director for seasons 2012/13 and 2013/14. The assistant director plays a vital role in ensuring a smooth rehearsal- and performance process. He or she is an important link between the stage director, the production team and the various departments involved in this production.
