
Paul Steinberg is a native of New York City and studied Theater Design at the Central School of Art, London he teaches Graduate Set Design at the NYU/Tisch School of the Arts, NYC and he is a Fellow of the American Academy in Rome. His work for opera include: Peter Grimes (ENO), La Calisto (Royal Opera House and Munich), Il Trovatore (Bregenz Festival), Il Turco in Italia (Berlin), Orlando (Munich), Tannhauser (Tokyo, Paris, Barcelona), Nabucco (Dusseldorf), Ercole Amante (Amsterdam), Kafka’s Trial (Copenhagen), Don Giovanni (New York City Opera), Casanova’s Homecoming (Minnesota Opera), L’Orfeo (Opera North, Oslo, Glimmerglass), Lulu (ENO and Frankfurt), Wozzeck, L’Incoronazione di Poppea, Turandot (Welsh National Opera), Rinaldo, Rodelinda, Pique Dame (Munich), Der Shatzgraber (Frankfurt), Otello, Falstaff, Hindemith Trilogy, Cav/Pag (Cologne), Arabella, Il Trovatore, Madama Butterfly, La Fanciulla del West (Antwerp), La Fanciulla del West (Oslo), Paul Bunyan, Acis and Galatea (New York City Opera, Glimmerglass) La Traviata, Madama Butterfly, Alpha and Omega, Yosef (Tel Aviv), Lohengrin (Paris).
Paul will be designing productions in the future for Theater an der Wien, Vienna, The Royal Opera House, La Scala, The Metropolitan Opera and Opera St Louis.
