Biography
Furlan's operatic breakthrough came with his performance in the role of Hoffmann at the Salle Gaveau in Paris in 1993 and ever since he has been appearing at all the major opera houses in France. In Italy he made his debut as Pinkerton in "La Fenice" in Venice and in the title role in "Faust" at La Scala, Milan. His recent performances in France include Cavaradossi (Nice), Faust (Dijon) and Samson and Pollione (St. Etienne) and Luigi in "Il tabarro" at the Lyon Opera.
Jean-Pierre's German engagements have taken him to the Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Hamburg State Opera. He also recently sang Le Cid by Massened at the Zurich opera, Don José at the Graz Opera, Zagreb Opera and at the Savonlinna Opera Festival and Don Carlos at the Hamburg State Opera. His future engagements include Don Carlos in Antwerp, Cavaradossi in Copenhagen and Samson in Karlsruhe.
