Gala concert with opera's finest highlights

The gala concert that accompanies the Queen Elizabeth Competition for Singing is a justifiably cherished tradition of the Flanders Opera. As always the exciting and highly demanding contest – one of the most important cultural events of the year – will be broadcast live on radio and television. However, the true song and opera lover will grab the unique opportunity to hear the winners in a more relaxed atmosphere.

This famous international competition for singing was launched in 1988. 2011 will be the seventh competition, with young singers who have to prove themselves in various disciplines (opera, Lieder and oratorio). The programme for the gala concert at the Flanders Opera includes a fine collection of highlights from the opera repertoire.
