La Hispanoflamenca's Navidad is not the Christmas sound you will be used to. On the programme is music from the Spanish Renaissance. The common theme is popular poetry that describes Christmas so very vividly, in this case Spanish and Dutch.
The La Hispanoflamenca ensemble specialises in 16th and 17th century polyphony from the Low Countries and the Iberian peninsula and brings together singers from both parts. The driving force behind this group is singer, conductor and composer Bart Vandewege. With their recordings of lost composers the ensemble has already caught the attention of the rest of the world.
