Three ballets of different choreographers, accompanied live by deFilharmonie. George Balanchine's ballet Serenade tells, in spite of anecdotal elements, no story. For the choreographer it was all about the imagination of the melodic and rhythmic lines of Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for Strings. Choreographer Elo has a new world creation. His style is characterised by movement of the torso and masterful shock waves. After the Rain of Christopher Wheeldon offers the perfect antidote. This intelligently choreographed ballet to the silent beat of Arvo Pärt touches the right chord.
