Intro
Four world religions come together in this concert that connects perfectly with the season’s theme: Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism and Islam. Each of the four composers on the programme was inspired by a clear religious context: Puccini by the Christian liturgy for his Messa di Gloria, Ernest Bloch by Jewish melodies, the Korean Isang Yun by meditative Buddhist chants and the Turkish Ahmed Adnan Saygun by Sufi poems. Allow yourself to be transported by the music of western and oriental origin in this inspiring concert where four faiths harmoniously complement each other.
Tickets from € 10.00 to € 45.00
Team
In this religious programme you'll hear a range of artists at work: The Flanders Opera Chorus and Symphony Orchestra joined by several inspired soloists. Giuseppe Gipali, who was born in Albania, and the Belgian baritone Pierre Doyen perform the solo parts in Puccini's Messa. Mezzo-soprano Marija Jokovic will be making her debut at this concert as a member of the Flanders Opera ensemble. The deep human tone of the cello, played by Jadranka Gasparovic, finally steals the show in the cello concerto, Schelomo.
