When do I buy tickets?

Season tickets can be renewed or requested up to 15 May and thus have priority over ticket sales. Single ticket sales start later:

Sat 9 July 11.00

• From Vienna to Paris (New Year's concert)
• youth performances
• PLUS programme

Sat 27 Aug 11.00

• operas: Aufstieg und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny, Tsjarodejka, Il viaggio a Reims
• concerts
• ballet

Sat 3 Dec 11.00

• operas: La Forza del Destino, Rumor, Le Duc d ’Albe, Carmen

Groups of 15 people or more have priority when ordering: the box office is open for more information regarding all productions from Wednesday 17 Aug. They also receive a 10% discount.

It is not the case that all performances are sold out within a day and even if a performance has officially sold out it doesn't mean you will miss out. You can leave your name and telephone number at the box office and if there are any cancellations you will be contacted. Tickets also often become available on the day of the performance. It is a good idea to come to the box office an hour before the show starts. We cannot guarantee anything, but it is definitely worth a try!

Up to 15 minutes before the performance you can get a duplicate from our box offices. There is a €2 charge.

Tickets are not refunded unless the performance is cancelled. Tickets will not be refunded even if the performance is interrupted after the first act. Season ticket holders are allowed to exchange a ticket once a season. 

Going to the opera is an ideal gift. You determine the amount of the gift voucher. The voucher is valid for 2 years and if the amount is not spent in one go the recipient is given a credit note for the remaining amount which is again valid for 2 years. Gift vouchers can be bought online or at the box office.
