House rules

  • Mobile phones need to be switched off during the performance.
  • Recordings (image or sound) during performances are forbidden.
  • Flanders Opera reserves the right to make sound or image recordings of events in the presence of visitors.
  • Latecomers are not allowed in the auditorium. They will be helped by the theatre staff and can follow the performance on a TV screen. They will be allowed in at the first suitable moment under the guidance of the theatre staff.
  • After leaving the auditorium during a performance, you will not be allowed back into the auditorium without the strict instructions of the theatre staff.
  • Tickets are only valid for the indicated seat. Changing your seat to a higher price category right before or during the performance is not allowed, unless a supplement is paid.
  • The ticket needs to be shown at all times if requested to check its validity.
  • Instructions of the theatre staff need to be followed at all times.
  • Tickets are not reimbursed nor exchanged, unless a performance is cancelled.
  • All information and quotes communicated by Flanders Opera or third parties are without obligation.
  • Entering our opera buildings is at your own risk. Flanders Opera is not liable in case of possible incidents or accidents.
  • Address details of visitors are only used for promotion and information purposes about activities of Flanders Opera. The management of the address details is in accordance with the Act of 8 December 1992 relating to the protection of privacy.
  • Distributing or selling goods and information of third parties is prohibited. Food, alcohol and drugs are not allowed in the opera theatre.
  • Pets are not allowed in the opera theatres.
  • Smoking is not allowed in the opera theatres.
  • People with a disability receive a 50 % discount and are requested to notify us when booking their ticket if they need extra assistance from the theatre staff. In the opera of Ghent the lift goes to the first floor and in the opera of Antwerp to the fifth floor. Wheelchair spaces in both theatres are in the stalls. Tickets for people with disabilities are not available online.
  • Guide dogs are welcome. However, we ask people with guide dogs to order their tickets through the box office (not online) and to notify our theatre staff.
