Biography

The mezzo-soprano Mireille Capelle sang as member of the ensemble of Flanders Opera in various roles including Despina/Così fan tutte, Eva/Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Marie/Wozzeck, the title role in Salome and Kundry/Parsifal. More recently she sang the title role in Jeanne d'Arc au Bucher (Honegger), the world premiere of Cuadro Cervantino of Lucien Goethals, Salome in The Great Temptation of Saint Anthony (De Meester), Recitante/Anarca (Battistelli), First Trumpet/Prova d'Orchestra (Batistelli). At the Liceu in Barcelona, she sang Lady Macbeth of Mtsensk. Mireille Capelle is head of the department Vocal Studies and singing teacher at the Conservatory of Ghent.
